Advanced High-Loaded Ni–Cu Catalysts in Transfer Hydrogenation of Anisole: Unexpected Effect of Cu Addition

Binary Ni–Cu heterogeneous catalysts are known to demonstrate excellent activity in conventional hydrogenation of phenolic compounds, and Cu addition facilitates hydrodeoxygenation (HDO). In this study, we aimed show the effect on specific catalytic selectivity transfer hydrogenation, which 2-PrOH was used as a solvent an H donor. Catalytic transformations anisole were studied sub- supercritical alcohol at 150 250 °C. The prepared using environmentally friendly antisolvent coprecipitation method, makes it possible obtain well-dispersed particles (less than 7 nm) high metal loading (up 50 wt.%). When copper is added, deactivation catalyst anisole, including HDO, observed. experimental data appropriate kinetic analysis that there decrease rate conversion accompanied by increase concentration acetone formed during dehydrogenation 2-PrOH.
